JUNE BIRTHSTONE - PEARLS
This month's birthstone is the delicate pearl. This lustrous gemstone is one of the most loved of all time, natural and cultured, they are available in a wide variety of colours and shapes. The most common are white and cream, but the colour palette extends to every hue.

Where are pearls sourced?
China produced most of the world's cultured pearls - more than 1,500 tons annually - some 2 billion freshwater cultured pearls. Other regions such as Australia, Philippines and Japan are main sources.
Japan is the historical centre for the Akoya pearl. The modern cultured pearl industry in the Philippines dates back to the 1970s.
